As I embark on to my fifth year of teaching I can still remember my training year as a SCITT trainee, five years since then I’ve had the pleasure to mentor my own student.

The start of the school year is stressful for all teachers, old and new. Here’s a beginners checklist to help refresh you on some helpful things to do on your first few weeks back at school.
Electronic markbooks are the way forward, I always create a markbook for each of my classes at the begininning of the school year. It’s the ideal way to not only record class tests/homework but to monitor progress. Save paper and keep it backed up on to your schools ‘cloud network’ so it can never be lost! I have applied conditional formatting rules to relevant cells to make it easier to identify specifics and provided a key :-)
